Razors for Sale

I will periodically post razors for sale that I have personally cleaned, tested, and cleaned again. No scabby surprises for you when you open one of these!

STAR 1912
Very much 'user-grade' but fully functional. Spring works, and it has both blade stops. The guy that used this back in the day must have had a serious sandpaper face - the plating is gone from the top plate. It's a pretty early example though, it has the 'alternating' comb like the Damaskeene. Shaves great, like all 1912s

GEM 1912
This GEM is what I would call 'gently used' - it's in great shape. Unplated brass, so it will get a nice green patina that will not affect the shave in any way. Otherwise, you will need to clean/polish occasionally with brasso, or my favorite cheapo - ASHES. Spring is as strong as bear trap!

1958 Flare Tip Super Speed
A great razor in VG condition, finish is a bit dull but there is no brassing, closes tight with correct blade gap. You can take your chances on Ebay or just get this one, Dilly-B tested and approved!
$15 CONUS

  1. Can you ship one of the 1912's to canada? and which would you rec. the star or the Gem? I've heard good things about the gem but they're both 1912's are they not?

  2. I'll get back to you about shipping to Canada. You can't go wrong with a 1912 though.

  3. Would it work in this one? I thought it was a lather catcher so the price was justified, and it's already shipped but I'm having second thoughts. Would you rec. over the 1912 and can it use the adaptors?

  4. This is a 1914, or "little lather catcher." They shave great and look nice but compared to the elegant simplicity of the 1912, loading and unloading is a bitch - the good news is that it looks like this razor is a later 14, which is good because that means you can use the 1/2 DE blades directly without an adapter. That case is pretty pimp too, btw

Got one tho thanks, So I won't be needed that. I lucked out like hell, lol. So even the paint scraper blade spines can be used for an adaptor?

    Last question. lol

  6. Use only stainless blades to make an adapter - think about why, just for a minute...

  7. I'm gonna look into, if you have to use the blades too then yea rust. I thought you just needed to use the spines after you remove them and epoxy it never read in detail.

  8. Again for obvious reasons, 'marine' epoxy is best for this purpose.

  9. The half de blade snapped worked for the 1924. Eventually I will move to the gem but for now this is amazing. I know just having a half de blade in there won't really be like the "real" thing but it's just about the best shave I've ever had. The yuma is too mild for me but this is just perfect. Weird being right handed but I shave better with my left hand with the Little Lather Catcher; could be because weaker hand has more delicate touch.

Thanks bro, Gonna order a small quanity of se blades and just make the holder after they run out.

That's what shaving is about; black hair needs a nice aggressive razor for dat nappiness. :P
